Weyman Chan

Finalist for the 2008 Governor General's Award for his second book of poetry, Noise From the Laundry, Weyman Chan divides his time between writing, family, electron- microscope lab-work by day, and insomniac bouts of writing at night brought on by nonsequitor fluxes in spacetime. As poetry editor of Calgary’s experimental literary magazine, fillingStation, he’s convinced that the sharing of weird and diverse points of view will save the world. His fifth poetry book, Human Tissue—a primer for Not Knowing— examines contemporary existential abandonment issues, by way of Mary Shelley’s original Frankenstein story.
